Motherland Music is well, we hope you are too.

Music is a magical element in life, the power of rhythm can lift ones spirit to heal a sickness, communicate messages, or just be enjoyed by the causal listener. Factor in a sweet melody, especially the sound of the West African kora and that's when peoples hearts turn to honey.

For those of you who don't know LA's most recent addition of kora masters, Motherland would like to introduce Amadou Fall from Dakar Senegal. Amadou has been three years in the US, mostly teaching and preforming with his group based in San Diego. Now in Los Angeles for a stint, Motherland want to bring to the community Amadou's special personality (he's always smiling) and of course his virtuosity of the kora and it's playing technique.

On Saturday evening November 26th Motherland wants to introduce Amadou and host a casual demonstration of some of his talents and what and how he wants to teach. We wish to send a warm welcome to everyone, whether you just want to listen to some nice live music or you are serious about broadening your stringed instrument abilities we welcome you to attend. There will be some refreshments and a general socialable good time.

During the month of December Motherland wants to organize a bi-weekly kora classes. There is not a need to attend the Nov. 26th demonstration if you want to participate in the kora class, the event is an excuse for Motherland to open up a little have some fun.

Motherland Music is NOW located in
beautiful Inglewood, California (city of LAX Airport)
near La Brea Ave. and W. Florence Ave.

We have a retail showroom, a drum repair workshop
and a class/performance space.

We offer hands-on instruction for learning traditional
rhythms on djembe, dundun, and conga drums.
Drum classes (if in session) usually end at 8:30
or 9:00 p.m. on Weekdays, earlier on Weekends
(and we remain open for sales then, too).

Everyone is welcome to stop by and check things out.
